For a number of years, this website existed to support my work as a coach. During that season my focus was on helping individuals think clearly about their lives, their relationships, and their sense of purpose. That work was meaningful, and I remain grateful for the people who trusted me with their stories. But over the last year, my vocational landscape shifted in ways I could not have anticipated.
A large part of that shift came through an unexpected health crisis. In 2025 I experienced a serious pancreatic event that brought life to a sudden halt. For a period of time, the ordinary assumptions about time, work, and the future were no longer guaranteed. Recovering from that season forced a kind of clarity that is difficult to manufacture in any other way. It required me to take a hard look at where my energy was going and what work truly deserved the limited years any of us are given.
As that clarity settled in, several lines of effort rose to the surface.
One of them was leadership. I stepped more deeply into nonprofit work as the Executive Director of The Soldier Fund, an organization dedicated to supporting National Guard Special Forces soldiers and their families. The work is demanding, consequential, and deeply meaningful. It places me close to a community of men whose lives revolve around responsibility, sacrifice, and service to something larger than themselves. Being trusted with that responsibility has reshaped how I think about leadership, faith, and the long work of formation.
Another was writing. What began as occasional reflection gradually grew into a steady practice of publishing essays and recording conversations through my Substack publication.
Much of that writing explores spiritual formation, identity, desire, and the slow and often uncomfortable process by which people actually change. Writing has become one of the primary ways I think, process, and contribute.
If you would like to follow that work, the best place to do so is my Substack, where I publish essays, reflections, and the Off Axis podcast. It has become the primary home for my writing and the place where most new ideas first take shape. You can find it here, or by clicking the link at the top of this page.
At the same time, I have begun developing a series of teaching resources and online courses that will be released later this year. Those courses will focus on spiritual formation, identity, and the disciplined life of following Jesus in a world that constantly pulls our attention elsewhere. When they are ready, this website will serve as the central place where those resources can be accessed.
Because of these changes, the website you are currently visiting no longer reflects the work I am doing. It was built for a previous chapter of my life and vocation. Rather than simply editing around the edges, I have decided to rebuild the site entirely so it can better represent the work that now defines my days: leadership, writing, and teaching.
For now, this page remains as a simple marker between chapters.
A new site is currently under construction and will soon provide a clearer home for my writing, my work with The Soldier Fund, and the courses that will launch later this year.
In the meantime, you can follow along through my Substack, where new essays and podcast conversations continue to appear regularly.
